1. Open the phone dial pad
2. Type *588* followed by the transfer amount (whole number, no decimals)
3. Type * followed by the recipient’s STC Kuwait mobile number
4. Add # at the end and press the call button

The amount must be a whole number — KD 1, KD 5, KD 10 and so on. Decimal amounts such as KD 1.5 are not accepted and will return an error. The minimum accepted amount is KD 0.100 (100 fils), entered as 0 in the USSD — confirm this with STC Kuwait at stc.com.kw as the minimum may vary.

*588* is the STC Kuwait local balance transfer code. It transfers from your main credit balance only — bonus credit, promotional credit and data add-ons cannot be transferred. If your main balance is below the transfer amount, the USSD will return an insufficient balance error.

Validity of transferred credit for the recipient:

The transfer does not affect the sender’s own validity period. Only the recipient’s newly received credit carries the validity period above — the recipient’s existing balance validity is unaffected.

In practice the most common transfer error on the STC Kuwait 588 service is entering the recipient’s number with a leading zero (0XXXXXXXX) instead of the eight-digit format (5XXXXXXX). The USSD rejects the leading zero format and returns a number error. Always enter the STC Kuwait mobile number without a zero prefix and without the country code.

International Balance Transfer from STC Kuwait

STC Kuwait provides two methods for transferring credit to international mobile numbers outside Kuwait — by USSD or by SMS to the number 585.
