What the Kuwait Mobile ID App Shows
The Kuwait Mobile ID app is the official digital identity application issued by PACI — it displays your Civil ID details exactly as they appear in the PACI civil records database, including your full name in both Arabic and Latin script.
Checking your name through the app is the only method that shows your name as PACI has it recorded — not as it appears printed on the physical card, which may differ if a correction was processed but a new card has not yet been collected.
The app does not allow name changes directly — it is a verification tool only. Name corrections require a separate in-person appointment at a PACI service centre.
How to Check Your Civil ID Name Online
Follow these steps in order. The registration process takes approximately 5 to 10 minutes on first use.
Step 1 — Download the Kuwait Mobile ID app
Download Kuwait Mobile ID from the official app stores:
- Google Play — for Android devices
- App Store — for iOS devices
- Huawei AppGallery — for Huawei devices
Only download from official stores. Search for “Kuwait Mobile ID” published by PACI — do not use third-party download links.
Step 2 — Start registration
Open the app and select your preferred language — Arabic or English. Tap Start, then Next, and select Online Registration using Mobile.

Step 3 — Enter your personal details
Fill in all required fields:
- Civil ID number — 12-digit number on the front of your card
- Civil ID serial number — shorter reference number on the card face
- Passport number — required for non-Kuwaiti residents
- Email address and Kuwait mobile number
Tap Next to proceed.
Step 4 — Complete biometric verification
Take a selfie as prompted by the app. Tap Submit. An OTP (one-time password) is sent to your registered Kuwait mobile number. Enter the OTP to activate your digital identity in the app.
Step 5 — View your Civil ID details
Set a secure PIN code for the app. Tap My ID on the home screen, then tap Details. Your full name in Arabic and English, Civil ID number, date of birth, nationality, and expiry date are displayed.

The Kuwait Mobile ID app pulls data directly from the PACI database in real time — meaning the name displayed reflects what is currently recorded in your official civil file, not what was printed on your physical card at issuance. If the app shows a different spelling from your card, the database record is what matters for banking, government portals, and residency procedures.
How to Verify Another Person’s Civil ID Name
Employers, landlords, and PRO agents can verify another person’s Civil ID name through the same app without needing the physical card.
- Open the Kuwait Mobile ID app and log in
- Tap Verify Another Identity
- Ask the other person to open their Kuwait Mobile ID app and display their QR code
- Scan their QR code using your app
- Their Civil ID details — including name, nationality, and expiry date — display securely on your screen
This method is used for employment verification and tenancy checks. The other person must have the Kuwait Mobile ID app installed and registered — you cannot verify someone who has not registered on the app.
As of 2026, the QR code verification method does not require both parties to be physically present at the same PACI office — the scan can be done anywhere with mobile data.
What to Do If Your Civil ID Name Is Wrong
A name discrepancy on your Civil ID causes failures at banks during KYC verification, mismatches on airline bookings, and rejections on government portals that validate name against the PACI record.
PACI manages the civil records database and is the only authority that can correct a name — no bank, employer, or government ministry can update the record on your behalf.
To request a name correction:
- Visit the Meta Kuwait platform and book an appointment at a PACI service centre
- Bring your original passport, residency permit, and current Civil ID
- Request a name correction — specify whether the error is in the Arabic name, the Latin name, or both
- Once PACI processes the correction, your digital record updates first — the physical card is reprinted and issued separately
The name correction triggers a Civil ID re-issuance at the standard fee of 5.000 KWD plus 0.250 KWD envelope fee. Full payment options are on our Civil ID payment page.
Name correction processing typically takes 3 to 7 working days. You will receive an SMS when the new card is ready for collection. Full collection centre details are on our Civil ID collection points page.

FAQs:
1. Is there a fee for checking your Civil ID name online
No. Viewing your Civil ID details through the Kuwait Mobile ID app is completely free. There is no charge to download the app, register, or check your name. A fee applies only if you request a name correction, which triggers a card re-issuance at 5.000 KWD plus 0.250 KWD for the envelope, payable through the PACI portal or Sahel app.
2. Can expats correct their Civil ID name in Kuwait
Yes. Expats can request name corrections at any PACI service centre. The correction process is the same for expats and Kuwaiti nationals — bring your original passport, residency permit, and current Civil ID. The name on the corrected card will be updated to match your passport spelling exactly. If your passport has multiple accepted transliterations, specify the exact spelling you need and confirm it matches your residency permit.
3. What causes a Civil ID name to appear differently in English and Arabic
The Arabic name and Latin name on a Civil ID are recorded as separate fields in the PACI database. A discrepancy typically occurs when the transliteration from Arabic to Latin was entered differently at the time of registration — a common issue for expats whose names have no standard English spelling. Both fields can be corrected independently in a single appointment at a PACI service centre.
